Bilateral Relations
Sri Lanka and Kuwait enjoy strong diplomatic and economic ties. Kuwait is one of Sri Lanka's important partners in the Gulf region.
Sri Lanka and Kuwait established diplomatic relations in 1970. The two countries have concluded agreements on economic and technical cooperation, double taxation avoidance, and investment protection. Kuwait has also extended significant financial assistance to Sri Lanka through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
