Kuwait is home to a vibrant Sri Lankan community of over 150,000 individuals — including skilled professionals, dedicated workers, and families who have made significant contributions to Kuwait's development. Serving and protecting the interests of this community is the foremost priority of this Embassy.
Sri Lanka and Kuwait share deep historical ties rooted in mutual respect and economic partnership. Kuwait has consistently been a generous supporter of Sri Lanka's development. In turn, Sri Lankan workers have contributed meaningfully to Kuwait's economic growth across a wide range of sectors.
The diplomatic relationship between Sri Lanka and Kuwait has witnessed remarkable progress over the past decades. High-level exchanges, bilateral agreements on trade, investment, manpower, and technical cooperation continue to deepen our partnership. We remain committed to further strengthening this relationship for the benefit of both our peoples.
