Reinvigoration of Sri Lankan Hoteliers Association in Kuwait

The Sri Lankan Hoteliers Association in Kuwait was reinvigorated on 09 November 2024 concurrent with appointing its committee members where an estimated 175 hoteliers of different skills are domiciled. Sponsored by Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, a colorful event was held on 9 November 2024 at Grand Majestic Hotel in Kuwait where H.E. the Ambassador, Kandeepan Bala who is also the patron of the Association graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with the Embassy officials and Senior Managers of Commercial Bank who were flown for the event.

On the flank, ‘Food Carving Festive’ was organized by the Association of Sri Lanka Hoteliers in Kuwait where many culinary artisans contested the event.

The Head of Mission, Kandeepan Bala highlighted in his speech the importance of re-skilling and up-skilling of the profession in order to keep pace with the modern changes and gain recognition.

The Ambassador also commended the contribution of the community including hoteliers by way of finding new opportunities for Sri Lankans sending remittances and most importantly the image building of Sri Lanka in this part of the world.

Ms. Rangika Chandrasena, Senior Manager of Global Remittances and Mr. Chirantha Caldera, Chief Dealer for the Treasury of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC also made presentations of their products and the financial status of the nation.

The President and the Committee Members of the Association of Sri Lanka Hoteliers in Kuwait took part in the event.

Winners of the Food Carving Competition were awarded with medals and trophies.
